First-class Emirates passengers can take a shower in the sky during the 12 hour, 15 minute flight from Boston to Dubai this summer.
The airline began a nonstop seasonal service between Logan Airport and Dubai International Airport on Saturday aboard its A380, the world’s largest passenger aircraft. The plane is equipped with an on-board lounge and bathrooms with showers. The A380, which is larger than the Boeing 777-300ER the airline usually flies to and from Boston, is being used to accommodate increased seasonal demand, according to a press release.
The A380 offers 14 private suites in first class, 76 seats in business, and 426 seats in economy, along with the on-board lounge and first-class bathrooms with showers, according to the release.
Passengers who book a first-class private suite can retreat behind sliding closed doors, where a mini bar, snacks, and a widescreen TV await. Gourmet meals and a seat that converts into a fully-flat bed are also included in the fare, which typically costs about $13,000.
First-class and business-class passengers can spend time in the on-board lounge, where hors d’oeuvres and drinks are available.
The seasonal service runs through Sept. 30 and will again be offered Dec. 1 to Jan. 31, 2020.
